APIS(Required Passport Information)

API and APIS

REQUIREMENTS FOR FLIGHTS TO AND FROM CANADA, THE UNITED KINGDOM AND THE UNITED STATES

Three countries within the Icelandair route network require certain passenger information to be transmitted prior to departure for all flights to and from the country. These are the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. This information is generally refered to as Advance Passenger Information (API) or Travel Document Information (TDI). This is the information that is displayed on the biodata page of the passport. API is gathered never later than at check-in for flights to Canada and the United Kingdom. The U.S. requires more advance on certain data elements. Advance Passenger Information System (APIS) is API information required by U.S. authorities of all persons travelling to and from the country. All air carriers, including Icelandair, are bound by law to transmit API/APIS information prior to departure. Passengers must provide this information or risk being denied passage.

ATTENTION: Icelandair kindly asks passengers travelling to and from Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States to use the electronic form at the bottom of this page to update their API/APIS information, if it has not already been done during reservation (see instructions below)

This requires Icelandair passengers travelling to the U.S. to complete APIS information prior to travel. It is most important to minimize potential inconvenience and delay at our hub in Keflavik. Therefore, it is highly recommended that passengers complete this information correctly at the time of reservation, prior to heading towards the airport. It can facilitate the check-in process.
