Important : If you are arriving in Iceland on an evening flight from North America Sep 15, 2011 - Apr 30, 2012, this tour is NOT recommended for your arrival day. Passengers usually arrive at their hotel around 8am. Any delays could cause you to miss the tour departure. Icelandair cannot reimburse passengers for unused portions of a package or land only travel once travel starts.
Miminum of 2 passengers required to guarantee tour. If you are interested in seeing Iceland underwater, then this tour is for you! Snorkel in one of the world's top ten diving sites, the Silfra fissure in Thingvellir National Park. Silfra is positioned between the Eurasian and American tectonic plates, which is slowly drifting apart. You can swim effortlessly in the Silfra fissure because of the mild current. The chance to snorkel between two continents in startlingly clear water has made Silfra a world top ten site. You will be accompanied by a PADI Dive master or PADI instructor. This tour is suitable for all abilities of snorkelers in reasonable physical shape. Beginners welcome. Your guides will teach you what you need to know. Tour includes all necessary equipment in standard sizes: dry suit, snorkeling mask, foot fins.
Wear: Warm under clothing, including long underwear Bring: Extra set of clothes. You may find it comfortable to change after your dive. Sometimes people sweat in the drysuit.
Please note that this tour will not pick up passengers at hotels outside of Reykjavik.
This tour is not suitable for children.
SCUBA diving (dry suit or non dry suit certified) is also available to be booked on-line. Please note: You must be a PADI certified SCUBA diver to participate in the SCUBA diving version. You will be asked to verify your certification by the tour guides. From $429 per person.
