West Fjords Kayaking: Birds and Blue Waters
FXI/06
12 hours
Daily departures except Sunday from airport at 7:45am
If you enjoy bird watching and outdoor adventure, you might consider kayaking, an excellent way to get closer to sea birds. Kayaking is fun and easy to learn. This tour combines kayak bird watching with a trip to the bird island of Vigur! After your flight to Isafjordur, you and your guide board kayaks and paddle by bird colonies along the coastline, an area with many species of ducks and waders. After 2-3 hours of kayaking there is free time to explore Isafjordur town and get lunch (not included) After lunch board a boat for a trip to Vigur Island, home to thousands of puffins and eider ducks, black guillemots and arctic terns. It's also home to the smallest post office in Europe, the only wind mill in Iceland, a beautiful landscape and a charming little farm. Light refreshments included while on Vigur Island.
