Day 1 - Departure Day
Evening departure from North America

Day 2 - Arrival in Iceland - Northern Lights Hunt
Early morning arrival in Iceland. Use your Flybus airport transfers from your Booking Confirmation to transfer to your hotel in Reykjavik. Please note that breakfast is not included on your arrival day. The rest of the day is at your leisure. For a very Icelandic way to shake off the jetlag, we suggest a visit to one of the local geothermal pools! You might also walk to the nearby Pearl attraction for a great view over the city. A wide-range of add-on tour options are available to book with Icelandair.

In the evening, be in your hotel lobby for the northern lights tour and remember to dress for cold weather. The northern lights, also known as Aurora Borealis, are a spectacular natural phenomenon, often seen dancing around in fantastic colors across the Icelandic night sky. Please note that the tour is weather-dependent and sightings are not guaranteed. If conditions are not preferable to see the Northern Lights your group will visit the Northern Lights Center in Reykjavik and take a short city tour by coach.

Day 3 - Golden Circle and Christmas Buffet
Enjoy a sumptous Scandinavian buffet breakfast (included in your package). Your guide will then meet you at your hotel at 9:30am. Today you will experience a trio of natural wonders along the Golden Circle Route in South Iceland.  Take in the breathtaking Gullfoss waterfall, which is often frozen mid-cascade during winter. Enjoy the intriguing active Geysir geothermal area of bubbling mud pools, hot springs and spouting geysers. Then discover Iceland's national identity at Thingvellir National Park (UNESCO listed), Iceland's greatest historical site and a place of tremendous geological interest, as it is the visible location of the mid-Atlantic Ridge where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates meet.

In the evening, savor a traditional holiday feast at Satt Restaurant located at Icelandair Hotel Natura. The true yuletide spirit shines with a deluxe gourmet Christmas buffet of distinctive heritage dishes based on local and Nordic ingredients.

Day 4 - Experience the Christmas Season in Reykjavik
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel, followed by the remainder of the morning which is open at your leisure. Perhaps you might enjoy an indulgent visit to Soley Natura Spa at the Icelandair Hotel Reykjavík Natura.

In the afternoon you'll enjoy a guided Christmas-themed walking and tasting tour of downtown Reykjavik. What better way to celebrate the spirit of the season than on a walking tour with a local expert dressed in Icelandic heritage attire and ready to guide you through a fun-filled afternoon of charming Icelandic traditions? During this Reykjavik Christmas walking tour you’ll gain insight into Icelandic holiday traditions as well as the history, art, architecture, culture and cuisine of the capital city. You’ll wander through the beautifully-decorated Old Town area and its  festively twinkling holiday lights, making stops at several interesting locations along the way. At each stop you’ll enjoy a taste of Iceland, as well as delicious Christmas favorites.

As a finishing touch you’ll a pay a visit to a classic Icelandic restaurant which is also home to one of Iceland’s finest private art collections. Here, you'll meet  one of the city’s top chefs who will share some culinary secrets over a premium selection from the wine cellar. At the end of the tour you’ll receive a small Christmas gift – a lovely souvenir of Iceland and this special holiday moment.

Day 5 - Farewell to Iceland
Start the morning with a Scandinavian buffet breakfast which is included as part of your hotel stay, followed by the remainder of your morning which is open for your own activities. Then, use the Flybus airport transfer voucher from your booking confirmation to transfer to Keflavik airport for your late afternoon departure to North America.
