Is it possible to change the legal guardian associated with the account of a young member?
No, from the age of 12-18 a single legal guardian is registered at sign-up and change is not possible.
Are young people able to earn Card Points and can they become Saga Silver and Saga Gold members?
Yes, they can earn Card Points and are therefore able to become Saga Silver and Saga Gold members.
Can a legal guardian use Saga Points that the young person has earned?
No, young people have full control over their Saga Points. However, young people can transfer their points to other accounts. Should young people wish to donate their points to their guardian, they may do so.
Can young people use their Saga Points to shop on board?
Yes, just like adults, young people are issued with their own Saga Card and can shop on board, as long as their travel partner can present a credit card as insurance for their purchase.
Is it possible to add more than one legal guardian to a young person‘s account?
No, only one adult is connected to the account of a young member.
Is it possible to transfer Saga Points into young people’s accounts?
Yes, it is possible to transfer Saga Points into young people‘s accounts.
Will young people receive a Saga Card?
All young people from the age of 12 will receive their first Saga Card when Saga Points from a scheduled Icelandair flight have been registered to their Saga Club account. When they fulfill the requirements for Saga Silver or Saga Gold membership they will receive a Saga Silver or Saga Gold Card.
Will young people receive a Saga Card number?
Yes, all Saga Club members get a Saga Card number, which is their identity in the Icelandair Saga Club. It can be found on their online profile and will be written on their Saga Card.
Will young people receive a username and password?
Yes, they will receive a username and password just like other members. The username and password can be used to log on to their Saga Club account online.
Can young members transfer Saga Points from their accounts?
Yes, young members can transfer their Saga Points like other users.
How do young people earn Saga Points?
Just like other members of the Icelandair Saga Club, young people earn Saga Points when flying with Icelandair and with our partners around the world. To earn Saga Points they simply enter their Saga Club number at the time of booking. To earn Saga Points on-board they must present their Saga Card upon purchase. How do young people redeem their Saga Points?
Young people can redeem their Saga Points in the same way as other members of Icelandair Saga Club. When purchasing on-board they do however require an adult to provide a credit card as insurance for their purchase. More information on Saga Points redemption can be found here.
Do young people‘s Saga points expire?
Saga Points that have not been used expire after four years, the same as in other accounts.
At what car rentals can I earn Saga Points?
Saga Club members earn Saga Points when renting a car on Icelandair Car Rental Search, carrental.icelandair.com, powered by Rentalcars.com.
For every 1 EUR you pay for a rental car you earn 2 Saga Points that will be registered to your Saga Club account 30-60 days after the rental period. More information can be found here.
Icelandair Saga Club has also partnership agreement with Hertz and Sixt Car Rentals in Europe and North America.
What is the difference between Saga Points and Card Points?
Saga Points are used for award flights or award services. Saga Points are valid up to four years i.e. the calendar year they are earned and the three following years. Depreciation is registered December 31st every year.
Card Points determine whether a member is entitled to Saga Silver or Saga Gold membership and/or if card may be renewed. Member needs to earn 40,000 Card Points during a twelve month period to be entitled to Saga Silver membership and 80,000 Card Points during a twelve month period to be entitled to Saga Gold membership.
Saga Points are missing from my point statement?
Members can apply for a correction of their Saga points status by sending relevant documents to Icelandair Saga Club within 12 months of the service being used.

Where can I see my Saga Point status?
To see your Saga Point status, log onto your Saga Club account on www.icelandair.com using your username and password.Members are advised to check their statements and ensure that all flights and other services have been recorded.

You can Buy Saga Points for yourself, give someone a Gift or Share Saga Points with someone else. More information can be found here.
Do I earn Saga points for all my flights with Icelandair?
- Saga Points and Card Points are awarded for all scheduled Icelandair flights.
- Card Points are only earned through Icelandair flights, not through partners.
- Saga Points can only be earned for flights flown by the member.
- The number of points depends on the price of the ticket, length of the trip and booked class of travel.
- Please note that Saga points for flights are credited after the flight.
- In the case of an upgrade, points are based on the class paid for.

Saga Club members can earn Saga Points through the Icelandair hotel search.

How can I Share my Points?
You can share your points with family and friends by loggin gon to your Saga Club account and selecting the action from the left sidebar.
Saga Club members can share up to 150.000 Saga Points per calendar year. Maximun 100.000 points per transaction. No limitation on number of transactions per calendar year. Please allow 24 hours for the points to post the recipient's account.
A service fee is added to each transaction.

How can I join the Icelandair Saga Club?
Those who are at least 12 years old can apply for membership of the Icelandair Saga Club . Companies, societies and institutions cannot be members. By applying for membership the applicant authorises Icelandair to make use of all information recorded for marketing and publicity purposes. An application is only accepted if fully completed. Each member may only have one Saga Club account. A member may withdraw their membership from the Saga Club at any time by sending notification in writing, together with the cut-up card. All Saga Points accrued by the member are then rendered void.
Please note that only one Saga Club member can be registered for each e-mail address.

How can I apply for a new Saga Club card?
Members that have just recently signed up get a new card for free after their first flight activity with Icelandair has been registered to their Saga Account.
Members that have lost their Saga Card or have not registered a flight can apply for a Saga Card for only 500 ISK or approx 4 USD/3 EUR. The credit card will be charged in Icelandic currency. Delivery time outside of Iceland may range from 10-21 days. Click here to login and if you are a Saga Gold or a Saga Silver member and you have lost your your Saga Card, please contact us through firstname.lastname@example.org to order a new Saga Card.

How can I buy flights for my Saga Points?
You can redeem your Saga Points for a flight with Icelandair to any of our scheduled destinations. To book an award flight please call our service center and quote your Saga Club details.
Can I upgrade to Comfort and Saga Class with my points?
When flying with Icelandair, members of Icelandair Saga Club have the option of upgrading their seat and service on certain travel classes using their Saga Points. Economy Class Passengers travelling on FLEX fares can upgrade to Economy Comfort and Economy Comfort passengers can upgrade to Saga Class.
When members upgrade for Saga Points they are upgrading the service and seat and receive all service benefits available to on their upgraded travel class. However, members earn Saga Points according to paid fare. It is possible to apply for an upgrade on parts of flights, for example one way only. More information can be found here.
Can my spouse and other family members use my Saga Points?
A cardholder can use his/her Saga Points to book flights for anyone; family, relatives and friends.

How do I book a hotel for my Saga Points?
Icelandair Saga Club members can book a hotel stay with their Icelandair Saga Points on Hotels.com as a part of the payment or for the entire stay. More information can be found here

Special Children Travel Fund
Who is eligible for a grant from the Icelandair Travel Fund for Special Children?
The Icelandair Travel Fund for Special Children is a travel fund for children with long-term illnesses and children in difficult circumstances.
The objective of the fund is to provide children in Iceland and neighbouring countries with the chance to travel with their families.
The fund was established by Icelandair on the First Day of Summer 2003. Travel grants are awarded twice a year, on the First Day of Summer (in April) and the First Day of Winter (in October).Further information on the Icelandair Travel Fund for Special Children
How can I donate points to the Icelandair Travel Fund for Special Children?
Members can donate any amount of Award Points each year to the Special Children Travel Fund. To donate Award Points on-line please log onto your personal area on the Icelandair web site and enter the number of points you wish to donate.More information on donating points to the Travel fund
